What are some of the easiet ways to start living with ZERO IMPACT?
Hello. The other day I found No Impact Man's blog which was greatly inspiring. But... it left me thinking "But where do I start? How did YOU start?" Does anyone have some suggestions as to where you begin changing you life to no trash and no negative impact? I know it will be difficult (like giving up the car. I want too, but I'm not there yet) but I'm always looking out for those simple changes one can make to their life. Thus far I'll put my two bits in. I save all plastic bottles, two liters and 1 gallons, mostly for drip irigation. I've switched to plastic washable containers to pack lunch in so no more throw away sandwich baggies or zip lock bags. I've put most of my electronics on power strips or switched outlets AND even more important to me have inspired my wife to take part in all this. I'm sure I'm doing more (I hope) but thats all that comes to mind. Thanks!

Why a Treadmill (zero impact running machine) burns LOT MORE the calories then jumping rope?
hi folks! i've been at the gym for 5 months now, i have been noticing that in the Treadmill (zero impact running machine) i can burn up to 500 calories in 30 minutes (with a high level of resistence) with no struggle at all, its very easy, very confotable and no impact at all!........ but, jumping rope gives me a hard time!! i started doing just 30 seconds straight~!!! stoping and 30 seconds more,, now a day i do 10 minutes straight thanks God! but my question is.... why jumping rope being the hardest cardio routine i've ever done in my life, burns less calories than the treadmill in which one i can run over it for hours without even feeling tired. (on a website i found they say you can burn up to 400 calories in 30 minutes if you go really fast! and if you NEVER STOP! LOL http://www.self.com/fitness/activity/calculators/jumping_rope ) i weight 175 pounds and hight 6'1'', i jump 120 times per minute... please a good answer needed! JUAN

Is it okay to swim with a stress fracture?
I usually run/bike, but currently have been diagnosed with a stress injury to my left tibia (shin bone) and it could turn into a full fracture if Im not careful. Would swimming be advisable since its zero-impact and I need to stay in shape for the one or two track meets I can still compete in.

Is a post-interview "thank you" letter really a necessity?
I read somewhere that only about 5% of job applicants follow up on an interview with a thank you letter. I personally hate writing them, because to me they seem desperate and cheesy in a professional context. And, as an interviewer in my previous position, I probably interviewed 8-10 people, and thank you letters made zero impact on my own hiring recommendations. What do you think? Do thank you letters really matter?

With the weighted percentages, is it right that one?
With the weighted percentages, is it right that one sub-category is weighted so heavily, that it can go "negative," & draw down the other subcategories down - beyond a zero impact ?

STOP WITH THE MICHAEL JORDAN ARGUMENTS and the dumb fake accounts?
GROW UP GET A LIFE You're destroying the basketball section! In the NBA section of yahoo answers they post useful questions from Answers, now all you see is "WHy is Alpha Wolf dumb" "Why is MJ overrated" "Why does Kobe suck" etc....totally meaningless questions THATS RIGHT questions exactly like that ARE POSTED ON THE FRICKIN NBA section of Yahoo sports This section is a joke now and has gotten outta hand Look MJ's career is over...OVER He is history. HIs time is UP. HE WILL HAVE ZERO IMPACT ON THE BASKETBALL COURT WHEN THE SEASON STARTS THIS YEAR... And for some of you comparing to Kobe, you know their styles are same but YOU CAN'T COMPARE a guy who retired with someone WHO'S in his prime WHO played in a different era with a different set of teammates, with different competition AND DIFFERENT RULES its like comparing Ryan Howard of the Phillies to Ty Cobb! You just can't compare them fairly right now until both their careers are over yahoo sports*

seeing as madden, johnson, ditka, cowher have all said every team steals signals, is the pats thing so huge?
Teams hire people to videotape from stands, hire lip readers, are allowed to videotape from the coaching booths and take still shots, these all include the oppossing teams benches. What advantage did they really gain from being on the sideline, inside the twenty yard line no less. With zoom lenses and technology what it is, i think this rule is as stupid as the old (tuck rule). The patriots benefitted from that one, big time, and everyone pissed and moaned. Is that why everyone is rejoicing now that the patriots are on the opposite end of just another stupid rule? Former players and coaches have all said it had zero impact. Current players and coaches who get their asses kicked by the patriots are all acting as if the patriots stole their playbook...ala dolphins last year.(BTW- no penalty enforced) Do you really believe the patriots are cheaters by moving 60 feet closer to the field than every other team to video? Do you think this exposed a stupid rule? Or just hate Patriots?
