Why do we make a special exception for Industrial Hemp?
Industrial Hemp is a cannabis species plant that contains only trace amounts of the narcotic drug "THC" that is in high concentrations in Industrial Hemp's cousin marijuana.
What I don't understand is that there are a lot of different plants that if distilled you could produce a narcotic drug. Why is Hemp the only plant that has trace amounts of a narcotic and is illegal.
There is a reason people to who eat bagels often falsely test positive for heroin. Poppy seed in bagels could be processed into heroin. Yet we don't consider poppy seed illegal.
I'm sure that some people's lawn grass probably contains illicit chemicals that could be distilled.
Why are we making a special exception for Industrial Hemp?
I'm really interested in answers from those who think Industrial Hemp should stay illegal.
If having trace amounts of THC is enough to make illegal, they why are half the plants in the forest legal to grow? Most of them have just as much narcotics too.
I am not answering my own question by saying industrial hemp has trace amounts of THC.

Why is industrial hemp still illegal, despite it's benefits? And why aren't people angry about this?
This question isn't necessarily concerned with medical or recreational marijuana; the environmental benefits of industrial hemp are what I am concerned about. They are related, of course, so naturally I expect to receive responses concerning these two facets of Cannabis as well.

Why do people still confuse non drug Industrial Hemp with Marijuana?
Stores like Wal-Mart and GNC sell Hemp Products. If these products were Marijuana, they would not be able to do so.

Marijuana Legaization: Why does industrial Hemp fall in the same boat as weed?
We all know Hemp has very very little THC (the active ingrediant in Marijuana), so why does it fall in the same drug catagory as Marijuana? We could save thousands of trees, clothe many people cheaply. And because it's a weed it is a renewable resource. What are your opinions on this topic?
Yes, it was DuPont that also lobbied against it. With a society against this global warming, it would only make sense to try and save the trees. Why is our government so ignorant?
Actually "Reefer Madness" was financed by a Church Group under the story name "Tell Your Children"...

Does California continue to import all industrial hemp, or can it now be grown there legally?
From those 2 answers and what I've read, I'm still not 100% sure. The bill seems to have been passed but the Governor vetoed it????... in 2006...

Peter Garrett -why did you not promote Industrial Hemp insteadof the pulp mill?
The Tasmanians have been trying for years to save their forests by growing Industrial Hemp.
